The Guild.....

The Wisconsin Visual Artists Guild was formed in the fall of 1994 by a small group of 10 Wausau area artists who were passionate about creating, exhibiting, and promoting thier artwork on an ongoing basis.

The WVAG has since grown to include 95 Wisconsin artists, from beginners to some who are nationally recognized. The WVAG exhibits the work of both children and senior citizens.

We exhibit year round at our primary gallery at the Marshfield Clinic-Weston Center, on both the first and second floors. We also collaborate regionally on an ongoing basis with other artistic venues including the Center for the Visual Arts in downtown Wausau, the Central Wisconsin Cultural Center in Wisconsins Rapids, Trigs Cellar 70 in Wausau, and others.

All WVAG artwork is original and for sale . Contact us to arrange a purchase

Our Philosophy .....

Our guild doesn't have "judges" that critique your work and decide whether is is "good enough" to enter a show. We pride ourselves in allowing our members show thier work in all of our shows, and actively encourage members to get thier work out into the public. We have monthly meeting at the Weston Clinic to keep members up to date on art happenings in Wisconsin and what members can do to further themselves and thier craft. All members are encouraged to attend.

Our Shows...

The Guild has maintained an aggressive show schedule. We have shows that are yearly themes, ranging from the "Mind of the Artist" show to "Lighter Than Air" to coincide with the balloon show in Wausau every August, as well as many others. Our current show will generally be featured in the home page of this web site with images from the show.

Our Blog...

We maintain a blog that keeps our members up to date on what the latest meeting was about, the theme of the upcoming show, what our members are up to, and anything else the members would like to discuss. Members e-mail it in and it goes on the blog. It is totally interective and members are encouraged to respond in a constructive manner. It's a great way for members that are farther away to keep in touch, get access to forms for show entries, keep up with art pick up and drop off dates for the shows, etc.

Sales of our works...

Member artists have the option to sell work on display at the shows. The shows are well attended and the Guild goes to great lengths to secure the best venues for our work. We feature a "Members Page" that includes a basic introduction to our individual artists and a sample of thier works as well as contact info, and links to thier individual web sites if available.
